400w MH blew up at factory!!!!

Hi guys, recently my dad had to rush to his factory because one of the 400w MH had blown out and caused a small fire

any idea why it blew up?

perhaps understanding the idea can help mh users check theirs and prevent a domestic explosion

I had the same incident too but was not as lucky as your dad, as mine caught fire .... Later it was known that due to heavy rain and a small leaking roof either water drops or heavy moisture cause it when it enter the same type of MH housing.

So i guess, when buying a MH lamps, better check if it is build properly.

My 2 cents.

According to my dad, he said the capacitor blew

Luckily now we have external ballast which can be located far away from the tank
