i mix salt in my kent marine salt bucket which 1 bucket can fill up a 25L jerry can... i use the plastic siphon stick to mix well, once 100% dissolved, pump to jeerry can... i will fill up 2 jerry cans in total lor (means i dun aerate them... y so troublesome)... sometimes leave them 24 hrs, sometimes 48 hrs, sometimes i change water immediately... see mood lor

i seriously dun find it necessarry to aerate it 24 hrs if u onli changing like 20%... unless u r those kind of pple who will retest ur salinity after 24 hrs.... for me i long time nv measure my salinity, cos i noe 4 yogurt cups of salt will give me 1.024 sg for 25L...

I always change my water after lights off

I will off my return pump, chiller, skimmer (main tank water circulation pumps remains on)

siphon out 45L of water from sump (2 trips with the same bucket)

in between clean skimmer, take out macroalgae, change carbon, rowa, cotton wool

then pump back ard 50L of water back to sump

switch on everything

mop the floor

changing water process approxiamtely 1 hr excluding salt mixing n moppin floor

:)

i tink some of u throw in ur water first then siphon out rite? liddat defintely not as efficient as u siphon out then throw ur water in... i find it totally ok to off the return pump for 1 hr liddat... since main tank still got circulation pumps...

well...for me...i will standby 2 pails of water with added dechlorinated solution....let it stand for few hours. And will mix the salt on the same day...and let it stand untill Friday...running with normal pump for circulation and mixing. On friday (which is my maintance day), will clean all the glass and siphon all the waste from main tank (will off all the pump) and pour in the new salt water thru sump...
