which acrylic filter out uv radiation better?

due to the glare from my metal halide, i intend to fabricate a cover using acrylic.

the hardware shop guy said got three type=>

1) clear,

2)semi frosted(a bit light can go through) and

3)totally white.

which type is the best when comes to filter out harmful uv radaition or all are the

same. :erm:

From what I have learnt, UV can only be blocked by glass so acrylic might not be that suitable

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

at the temperature that MH is giving out....

i think yr acrylic will nua in no time!!!!!

the whole thing will be soft....

can u remember yr technical in sec school????

we use heater to soften and bend acrylic???

if u wanna cover yr MH light.... as in side and top.... go for metal cover....

if u wanna shield the UV frm bottom... like Mr. Ervine say.... use UV glass...
