Choice of Chillers

hi everyone,

I have a 160 litres tank, 2.5x 1.5 x1.5 ft. Am considering on purchasing a chiller finally.

What are the ones available in the market and most suitable for the tank.

What are the cheaper models i could purchase ranging to the higher end ones?

also, durability and noise level. if i wiould to purchase a certain chiller, would it be able to last for for 3 years. are repairs/ parts expensive? can they be serviced?

Where is a suitable establishment where i can purchase one?

There are many kinds of chillers out there..There's the resun,artica,and iceprobe..hmm and some others which i duno...

For ur tank,maybe can get a resun cl650 so the next time u change ur tank u do not have to change the chiller

Don't think i would be upgrading my tank anytime in the next 5 years.

is the CL 650 the correct model for the size of m tank?

I would recommend Pacific Coo 1/2HP as I am using it currently. Reliable & ability to support your aquarium size & beyond. Kick-in less often thereby saving energy costs.

if you intend to use MH and lots of powerful pumps, then you are better off with a 1/2hp. Otherwise, the C650 should be value for money.

Yeah i thought its for around 4 ft. tanks? Does 2.5ft. need that good a capacity?

I think a CL650 is way too big for a tank of your size.. I would recommend something abit smaller like the CL280 or CL300.

CL650 will be too much imo , CL280 is insufficient for you if considering u still have a sump , I know cos my tank configuration exactly same as yours and i am only using 4 X T5 24W , one Rio HP 20 , ...

currently using a 1/4 HP Hailea chiller , can chill the tank efficiently . maybe u want to try CL450 ?

Get the Resun CL650 abt $400+ brand new if you are on budget. Dailea 1/3hp or 1/2hp if you got extra cash to spare ($1200+++).

I think you are referring to Daeil?

Arctica is the best.. if you need the bi-annual onsite maintanence else I think Daeil is the same except for the warranty and on-site service.

Daeil Fish cooler 1/3 Hp is about $1600.. it is very quiet, but it is too "powerful" for a 2.5ft..
