I was told that the dirt or so will choke the chiller fan

and slow downs its performance

How long do we need to clean it

?

choke the condenser rather than the condenser fan. try to clean the condenser abt 6 to 9 mths as a general rule of the thumb.

Hi

I read in my chiller manual that for 6mth maintenance you will need to run fresh water from your chiller outlet to the inlet (reverse flow direction).... I think that is the "back flush"....

har? can like that wan ar? i dare not touch anything

???

y not??

alamak i small kid also know how to wash air con lo

haha

but normally pple spray chemicals to remove the dirt first than do a flush to totally wash away the dirt that is being trapped on ur condenser. Try doing a google search.

There is a "famous" forum there got how to clean chiller guide(something like that)

not nice to say it here

Does anyone know if the usual aircon man is also qualified to do servicing for chiller?

Or anyone have contact for good value for money chiller servicing? :thanks:

Saw somewhere in ST Classified where they provide chiller cleaning services haha but not sure if its for aquarium chillers.... :)

Just serviced my chiller 3 weeks ago after using for 1 year. And the amount of dirt caught at the condenser (I think, the things with the fins) is incredible. Totally clog up. The service guy also did back flush and everything, top up gas.......and now the chiller is definitely more efficient.

Just monitor the chiller run time, if it gets longer then maybe it's time to service. I think he say outdoor chiller every 6 to 9 months, indoor chiller every year.

How much did you pay for servicing? :thanks:

Will using a household steam cleaner to clean the heat exchanger fins and then flushing with water periodically (say once a month) help? This would of course be besides the standard 6 mthly or yearly servicing by the pros.
