my white anemone turn brown .

hmm...

what light are u using?

are you referring to "purple tip sabae anemone"?

once the purple tip sabae anemone gained zooxantella algae under sufficient lighting.. it will turn brown..

i'm using 2 no 150w mh and yes the anemone got purple tip. will it turn back to white if parameter are right again ? brown is unsightly. <_<

i think brown show that they are healthy because of the zooxantella... white mean they are bleached or something like that .

i think ur anemone is getting more healthy man . that is why it is turning brown .

There are some collectors or LFS who will purposely put such anemones in total darkeness for a few days until they expel all their zooxanthellae, thus turning white but retaining their purple tips... its attractive to many reefers but its actually a stressed animal... until enough time has passed for them to produce back more zooxanthellae, thus returning back to their natural brown colour.

Either that... or they remain white and eventually die. :(

The only white anemones I know of are azooxanthellate tube anemones. Other than those, you can assume with 99% certainty that other white anemones are bleached. On a sidetrack, you could also say with 99% certainty that yellow anemones are dyed.

Always something more important than fish.
