u mean just place the caulerpa in a barebottom refugium issit? It's OK but best if u can get some elevated egg crate or something for the caulerpa to cling onto.. if not it might get sucked into your return pump

As for lights, I recommend at least PL lights.. FL might not be strong enough

I'm using 34W PL light for my refugium with grape caulerpa, they grow good.

I would recommend you look into focusing light, because using those normal lighting, nearby compartment get the lighting benefit, and may grow nuisance stuff, like cyano (That's in my case now :( ).

ya, PL light is more good than Fl in this case. somebody put 24 hours, to make it fast grow. somebody open at nite, to keep the NO3 low. both way also can, but i prefer the nite 1 cuase caulerpa will decrease my NO3 level. now, my 1 1/2 tank full of it oledi, hahaha!!!

anyone got pic of fast growing caulerpa ? i need to put some in my newly set up refugium.

If i am not wrong, by turning the light for 24 hrs, some caulerpa might turn asexual and die izzit ?

When the light goes out, those caulerpa produces CO2 and this drive down the pH level.

so by turning on the light at nite (ie reverse lighting vs main tank) helps to maintainn pH level.

juz to share.... :D
