Skimmer skim like mad

Hi,

Since added kent pro tech coat and letting my skimmer off for 3 days, last night when I on the skimmer it overflow into my waste collector. I immediately open the gate valve all the way, but it still over flow. So what should I do?

need help again..sorry to cause so much problem here.

I am using beckett skimmer, 24 by 6". Using rio 26 pump

try tuning the skimmer

I had open the gate valve to the max, and when I turnon the power the water slowly goes up the chamber and into the waste collector. I had to off the power immediately.

u have to tune ur air valve as well. its impossible that a rio26 can overflow a 6" 24" beckett.

show us some pic of your config. then we got better idea..

ok will try tuning the air valve tonight.

1) open the gate valve to the max

2) to close the air valve

3) slowly open the air valve

4) then adjust the gate valve accordingly

Is all this the right steps?

I think your skimmer is probably removing the chemical you just added,

and will stop once all the chemical is remove, by tuning your skimmer now will reduce its efficiency, so its your call if you wan the coating to be there any longer,

or you want the skimmer to run properly...

same thing happen to my skimmer when i change water with too much chlorine removal that has coating for fish....

Bro,

try to set ur skim level via adjusting the gate valve and air intake ball valve to skim at a lower level, u need to skim out the additive which is causing the excessive foaming 1st...

Tks bros...had controlled the air valve and gate valve and it is skimming out the excess foam into the waste collector. It is much better than the 1st time. Tks once again.
