This is the lighting combination i'll be using for my 4x2.5x2 tank - 2x250W MH (10K) and 4x39W T5 (Actinic). Dunno how it'll turn out eventually though.

I suppose depends on your set up. If just fish only then maybe normal flourescents would do...T5s for softies, and for sps and mixed reef, probably better to have MH with T5s to fill. :)

Yup. Actual width is 2.5' so can mount all the lights onto the lighting frame/rack i made! :P

No lah! The credit goes to Weisoon. His frame is the prototype and he's the one who gave me tips on how I should mount the lights as well as where to buy the stuff from. :)

It'll now be easier to work on the tank without the lightings getting in the way! :P

His frame actually nicer than mine...4 vertical mounts, one in each corner. :D

Izzit ok to jus go for 250W (20K) MH?

I suppose it'll depend on how big your tank is. Only problem is whether there is enough light coverage. :)

I agree with you.. the lights usually gets in the way when you try to do something in the tank :angry:
