Hi Reefers,

What sump size for what tank size? How do you know?

Any experts there willing to pour out their thoughts?

Sump should be as big as you can.............normal its being restricted my our cabinet space else I would luv to have a 6ft sump for a 3ft tank..........hehe then no need to feed fishes liao..........

It would be much useful for "as big as you can" if one do go for DSB.

The wider and bigger the volume of DSB, the more effective it is.

Else, probably just big enough to fit in all your stuffs, plus some surplus.

Or another spare compartment to grow macroalgae or refugium.

From the tanks i view so far, one of the best systems belong to this reefer who have a 4ft tank but a 6 ft cabinet. As a result, he's able to have a huge sump. His sump is built in such a way that there's a 3x1.5x2 ft sump join to a 2x2x2 ft refugim. This allows him to have the space for his equipments, as well as a refugim for macroalgae and copepods to grow. :D

Skimmer: Deltec AP851

Calcium Reactor:

Lightings: Aqualight T5 Retrofit, 150 watt MH X2

Chiller: Hailea HC-500A model w/ Aquabee 2000

Ozonizer: Hailea HLO-300 Digital ozonizer

Wavemaker: Tunze 6080, Tunze 6060

Return Pumps: Aquabee 5000 x2

Other equipments: Aquabee 2000, Quietone 1200, 5L Co2 Cylinder w/ Dupla regulator

having a big tank wit a small sump is bad!

like me... 4 ft tank and 2 feet sump... and now in the long run problems slowly surfaced...

headache.....i needa spent alot of money to redo my sump...

What kind of problem?? Would you like to share with us?
