I use a soft toothbrush to scrub it off in a pail of water from my tank. Use a glove too...they may be scavengers and bristle worms!!! proms Posted September 10, 2003 Author Share Posted September 10, 2003 hi, Spoke to the lfs folks, they said that it is OK to leave the LR residue inside the tank...if too unsightly, just suck it out. If you dont soak the rocks in FW, i dont think the detrivores will come out of the rock anyway. Debris will choke coraline algae and also prevent its growth. I noticed this after having rich coralline growth only on rocks directly in front of my powerhead, while rocks in areas of low flow are brown and drab.
