Top Trickle Filter

Hi all,

I plan to make a top trickle filter for my 4 ft marine tank.

I need to know if Bio balls can be used to culture nitrifying bacteria or

is just filter foam and carbon enough for it.

im afraid none is good enough.

wat type u using? those stack up kind of top trickle filter or just 1 on top filter kind?

by using bio balls, you might face problems like nitrate and stuck dentris.

possible to include a sump?

or maybe put more live rocks in ur tank for bio filtration. high water flow.

also if u put those tickle filter, u got less space to toy about for ur lights.
