common mistake most ppl make...;

they walk into "FAMOUS JALAN KAYU ROTI PRATA SHOP" instead of "AQUAMARIN"

haiz.... tell u how many time already... :P jokes aside???

which prata u buy?? TELUR or KOSONG? u sure not mutarbak???

REALLY.... joke aside....

i not an expert in prata.... but i cant help but add some horny comments... i meant corny... the backspace button on my com not working... sorry...

see lah.... if u feed it... and it eats... i guess it should be alright... plus the fact that u say it doesn't smell.... but don't smell too close ah.... later wait it jump up and eats your nose....

horny joke again.... i meant corny..... argh!!!! :P

Hmm my case is....

When i saw the prata i bought at a shop, it was opening big and expanding well... When i bought it home, it shrinks. Naturally i thought maybe it needed some time for it expand but it never did for the next few days..

So i went to do a water change. It helped.. now its expanding well.. i think it may be the water. Just my 2cents... :)

Dont be worried if you see the skeleton .. once they start to recover, they will grow back double quick time. Pratas are actually quite hardy...

Give it a while more and continue to tempt it with market prawn. Change water if you must but as long as the its not rotting as a whole. Its "salvagable" :D

my opinion. ;)

its the new environment lah..

if your water parameters n lighting is good, not scare.

Wat lights you using?

Try feeding it at nite, before the lights off..

then when lights off the fish won't got chance to disturb the shrimp meat.

Your coral beauty may be the culprit stressing it.

I think the help is to save my earlier prata which is going to die.

Then i bought another prata this time it grow well for two day ,then today when i got home i notice my new prata had some skin torn SHIT! Must be my coral beauty AGAIN ,because i was off to work the work day from early morning then i reach home at around 9pm ,that damn coral beauty must be very hungry till it try to nipped some fresh from my prata.

Prata placing at the tank bed where there only low current..

Will the tissue grow back .....?

My beauty did not disturd my other brains LPS

Does beauty really like prata a lot...?

Do any seniors around encounter this problem.....?

I will try feeding the fish tomoro early morning before i go for work hope it wont disturd my prata again.cross my finger!!

:(:(

Hope it not confusing ,as my command of english not very good. :P

i suggest u trap ur coral beauty and get it out of the tank.. unless u can go frequent feedings, ur fleshy lps will sooner or later be in the stomach of ur coral beauty..

with proper care and water parameters, ur prata will be able to recover bt not with constant nipping from ur fishes. :peace:

I'm no senior, but suggest u remove the Coral Beauty, this guy has a taste for pratas, maybe it's indian... :P

AS for the prata, if the skeleton bone is exposed, make sure it doesn't have algae growing on it, coz that will delay it's recovery process... once the CB ( Coral Beauty lah... ) is out, the prata would not be disturbed and it would recover in due course... :P

How to remove? Keep the water parameters good, nutrients low so the algae will not even grow on it.............hehe

Coral beauty has to be eliminated else after the CB finishes with your prata, she will go harress the other LPS corals.

p/s: Fish trap for sale, Fish trap for sale.............just $10. Self collect at punggol.........tested and proven to catch any fishes that feed on external fish food.........still grateful to Rav-65 for introducing this trap to me :-)

I hope it's not :off: here, but can someone advise what to look out for when selecting a prata? Think I have seen some which are somewhat transluscent, is that an indication of poor health? Or it's just my eyes? :ooh:

Reefboyz, hope you don't mind for hijacking. Else I will repost in new thread. :P

Translucent mean u can see the skeleton inside? What colour? I may be no expert but my advise is to chose those that expand and the colour stand out .I see some luminous white green may be translucent when expand .And dun chose those that have skeleton exposed with algae on it,very hard for the prata to recover.
