SRC Member fnscasey Posted September 8, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 8, 2003 Heard that invertebrates from LR will migrate to the sand making the sand 'Live'. What kinds of invertebrates will usually migrate, do they come out after dark ? How to select a good LR with many invertebrates ? Any points to note when selecting a LR ? I know this ? is silly.....can LR be used in freshwater aquarium ?
SRC Member DrJekyl_MrHyde Posted September 8, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 8, 2003 I think the living thing that is in ur live rocks are call copepods and in the LR u can also find crab and worms in it ....most of the crab will come out on feed at night ....when chosing live rock ,try to avoid LRs that stink(smell like rotten egg)...cause most of the living thing in the LR has die and so it will produce such smell...... Like many have said that a stink LR usually mean the invertebrates in LR have die. So after the cycling process, will the invertebrates back in the action...how about the crab.....still have crab ? SRC Member Dazza Posted September 9, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2003 crabs & mantis are pretty hardy creatures. Most will die off during cyclin g but usually a couple will survive.
