Hi,

What is the best temp of the bulb for a mainly LPS- torch, hammer, octo,

and softies like zoos,yuma,rics .

I an using 150MH DE with 2 20k 24w t5 and my corals seem to brown after a while.

Will a 14k or 20k be more suitable to get goods colors ?

My water looks fine:

SG -1.023

dKH -10

No3 -10

po4 - 0

ca -420

Of course, try to use 10kk and supplement with 2 x t5s actnics.

20k bulbs are good aesthetically and does not help much on the growth and multiplication of zooxanthalle.

Thus you will need minimum 10kk to ensure good health and growth.

In fact, some shallower species will thrive in 6500k which is much yellower than the 10kk.

In order to have a more pleasing view and to simulate dawn and dusk, use the T5 actinics to supplement the MH.
