hehehe... :P Dispar is right. Especially the Vietnamese maximas - scutes are not that prominient. :peace:

My teardrop did have really small scutes....

ok does that mean that the maxima's scute will not be as obvious as the squamosa's scute? Or there are maxima's scute that are as obvious as thioeh's squamosa clam?

Juz wana get the fact clear..... 'cos I used to use that noticeable scute to identify squamosa clam. :thanks:

Yup.. maxima usually being a smaller species have scutes more compact together, of course smaller than those of squamy... For me i use the matle pattern to ID the clam
