And if u have a dead Red Dragon, good luck to you on finding the replacement parts for it. Most likely, it will remain dead for at least 3-4 months while waiting for parts.

Get Iwakis to power your beckett, if it dies, u can get replacement parts almost immediately. :)

Hi,

Get yourself a deltec instead.

Beside noisy and power hungry, it require skill and patience to tune a beckett.

I'm using a dual beckett + Iwaki MX100 and will be switching to Deltec soon.

bro, actually my md55 is giving me very minimum noise, so much so that i can't even hear it. perhaps its because i have been using for a month only. . e only minus point is the heat produced.

Let me share a little trick i used to cut the noise.

For me, my MD40 creates noise when the white part touches the floor and vibrates. So I simply put a piece of sponge (those black industrial usage ones) and viola, the noise is cut. The hard sponge also supports the pump too

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

I think what you meant is to reduce as much noise as possible (from anywhere). By adding rubber or sponge, you introduce damping effect to the equipment. Hence, reducing the noise produce. Did I understand your reply correctly?

Yiu need to mount the Iwaki in a bolted base with rubber foam in between the stand and the base to damp the vibration. Iwaki's are very quiet pump. They are only noisy if not mounted properly or the base support is frail.

everyone has different threshold of what noise is. The pump may not be noisy for robe but may sound like a jackhammer to another's sensitive ears...

even for properly mounted iwakis, the pumps of md40 and below do not have cooling fans which make them generally quieter in comparison whereas those with cooling fans like md55, mx70, mx100 have cooling fans which contributes to the absolute decibel levels coming from the pump operation.

Personally I think my mx100s are acceptably quiet for me, but apparently they are very noisy for other reefers
