Golden Butterfly

Saw some of these at Irwana.... my wife and I thought this will be a lovely fish to include in our 5' FOWLR tank when we start stocking up again....

Undersrtand it comes from the Red Sea and may feed on shrimps...

I wonder how it fair in captivity, having know the low captivity rate of most butterflies... so bros with any experience can share on this?

my friend have a pair from Iwarna. Actually it is better to get a pair as i always see them swimming in pair.

Very nice fish, but from what my friend told me is tat the GB only eat brine shrimp.. hard fish to train for pellets...

Have 1 for around a month. Now eating brine,mysis and sea veggies algae(brand is 2 little fish). Still refused to eat pellets but as long it eat something i'm fine with it.

GB is consider to be an easy BF to eat, but it is also easy to succumb by lymphocyst. Fresh water bath will eradicate this diseases. This fish is likely to eat mostly on meaty food (either live or frozen) like blood worm, adult brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, baby guppy.

my 2 cleaner skunk and 2 blood shrimp are fine with this butterfly(mine a 5 ft tank)

My golden butterfly has started to eat pellets like a pig after 3 months. The first 3 months she only ate mysis and blood worm.
