Have been dosing for quite some time. Only pure fish and LR only (no casulty)and found the skimmer to be skimming out the medication (blue colour)

blue medication... sounds like copper you are administering.... :o:o

If you are dosing copper into your main tank... it is definitely a big NO NO.... :o

Why?

1) Copper or any other form of medication is deadly to all sort of corals, inverts, bacteria and whatever. In another words, you may be killing off some benefical stuff in your main tank as well and screw up your system. Those good beneficial fauna which you can't see with your ###### eyes will be gone...

2) Copper CAN be absorbed by anythin calcerous... in another words, your skimmer may not remove those already abosrbed by your liverock and substrate .... and if you plan to go for corals in the future, YOU CAN'T... unless you change the sand, liverock and water.... because the copper may leak back into the water in the long run...

I suggest you do some water change over time to remove all traces of copper in your tank ASAP.... set up a proper quarantine (separate tank) altogether and be diligent about it... Many people would want copper out of their main tank... do take the advice....

hi thanks for informing. I'm using Aquapharm Cure ICH and it stated no copper and safe for inverts and copper. Maybe that's Y it take so long to cure the ICH :D

Try it with your skimmer off... and see how it goes first...

In any medication you use (be it copper or non-traditional form like peppers or stuff), follow instructions on bottle carefully....

Personally, if you ask me or any other bros here, copper or hypo followed be strict QT measures for new fishes is a surefire way of ich prevention...

So can any bros recommend me a copper base medication like name and brand and where got sell? May get 1 to try on new fish in QT tank.

stick to Seachem Cupramine.. it is recommended in most article and is relatively safer to dose since it is in chelated form rather than pure form...

However, you need also a copper test kit... ;)
