Sun corals are non-photosynthetic so it does not matter if they are under light or not.

I have mine right out under strong lighting...

To get them open... you have to introduce some form of stimulant eg. strong-smelling food into the water. My sun corals will open up once they detect my hands in the water (not joking), or when I feed GPs, cyclop-eze, brineshrimp, mysis etc.

You have to target feed each individual polyps as they are in fact seperate organisms and not part of the 'Borg Collective', so to speak.

We are the Borg. Resistance is futile. Lower your shields and surrender your ship. You will be assimilated. We are the Borg.

I was once a member of BORG... HEhe...oh well...archmage was too addictive..had to break away from it...

Quit it immediately after I made it to hall in B3...I was in the first batch in the hall of fame. :eyebrow:

Always something more important than fish.

We are offtopic.. but the Borg is part of the Star Trek universe... I think your version of BORG is probably some clan name in Archmage... sounds like a wimpy wand-waving fairy game... haha... sorry... ;)

erm, if u've been diving b4, u'll notice most sun corals found in the wild are attached up-side-down to the underside of rocks...almost shaded completely from the sun... can try glueing them that way...heh

But then....target feed?

U mean if I squirt food on them they will open immediately?

They will only bloom during meal time?
