Current version is only 1/2 inch. You might want to consider the new 3/4 inch version coming 15 Sep (according to Eco website).

The new one according to email replied from Eco: "Yes the 3/4 inch models will accomodate flow rates up to 700 GPH."

So it fits nicely to my sump return flow which is 3/4inch.

This deviced has been chewed up and spat out, trampled on and flushed away on Reef Central.

Just one of the numerous threads on RC.

Not enough? Get more here. You'll need to be registered with RC.

It's more or less the same. It's snake oil.

I've read some of the threads there but don't seem to find anything conclusive.

Most of the time, it's just some folks being hostile towards anyone who dares to suggest that "perhaps it works". This puts me off.

There's also a chap who bad-mouth Miracle Mud.

It's just like Marc Weiss products. It doesn't do anything bad but doesn't do anything that it claims, so it's just waste of money. We can know conclusively that it doesn't work because it's mode of action as described by the manufacturer is unscientific and just plain ridiculous.

People are just pissed off with snake oils and con artists trying to make a quick buck of unsuspecting reefers.

I hate snake oil but I've here is what I have found out...

You must have read plenty of product reviews by Bob Goemans from FAMA. He and Sam Gamble (Aquaculture - company that cultures brine shrimp, rotifers, single cell algae, and other marine organisms) did a research and wrote a book called the "New Wave". Here they did their own magnetism experiment (not using ECO products) and found that it does improve the water quality to achieve natural equilibrium.

Here is Sam Gamble website and more articles and research done by him.

Sam Gamble - Keysmariculture website

Bob Goemans have not review the ECO product yet but he believes from the experiment that he did with Sam Gamble proof that magnetism does improve water quality.

Here is a little bit of defination of Infrared photons using Ceramics by an Hobbyist Engineer. Infrared photonss. He said ECO is not a breakthrough (nothing new) product but a simple concept implemented. And it should be cheap.

In a recent International Marine Aquarium Conference -> IMAC

Sounds like marketing drivel.

Hooah! I'll definitely agree with the article cited by Yazid.

Sam Gamble doesn't know what he is talking about. Big, funky, pseudo-scientific words don't make the product work; real science does.

William,

It could be the skimmer running in better or simple placebo effect. Purely anecdotal.

Just like wad one of my lecturers told my class.... Caucasians can talk very well and very convincing about nothing at all.

Always something more important than fish.
