i'm also considering X10 controllers usuing AquaController from Neptune Systems

AquaController

there's even a basic version which is ard USD$180

much cheaper than IKS and neater cos u do not need power bars.

disadvantage is the dimming capabilities.

cheers

Yep, that is a good controller with very good functionality and software.... :yeah:

(reading from the neptune site - i don't really have experience running one of that... )

I am thinking DIY as it is more challenging and satisfying. It may not work out but i am more of a hands-on guy, will be going in slowly and learn along the way.... :P

Cheers...

x10 controller that neptune has is 110V one. they say u got to ownself order your 220V transmitter and modules from outside. reason being something like x10 is not officially approved in european country.

correct me if i'm wrong...

you're kind of right dude.

however, just get the controller from neptunesys and get the modules locally.

they are available from those home automation providers

if you're looking at that to monitor temp and ph for certain actions such as

- turn off lights if temp > 28deg

- co2 injection if ph > 8.4

etc...

this is one of the cheapest and neatest solution.

however, if you're considering, do take note that each appliance module (chiller, lights) would probably set u at ard $60

cheers
