I recommend you wear the rubber gloves as it is almost ALWAYS after handling the rocks - hands/fingers becomes very itchy and painful to touch. The gloves do help in reducing the itch.

But the latex gloves got powder on it, will it affect the water

:eyebrow: I use both : Latex gloves ( the type used by hosipital staff, use and throw, cheap ) for minor work. and Aqua Gloves when I do a major work like rescape. Some times ago, after doing rescape work, my hand was so itchy that I had to see doctor. Doctor said I was attacked by unknown bacteria. Since then , I always use gloves.

Ok... yes yes, prevention is better than cure, but I'd like to find out if anyone who has felt this itch and pain after handling stuff in your tank applied any ointment or medication that effectively helps sooth it? I experienced this and suffered for more than 2 weeks, but sometimes still lazy to put on gloves... :P

super water proof glove...not to wat i know one but for car using....there is alcohol based solution that can be applied on windscreen...and when applied...u will see rain droplet just slides aways ....but i heard it is flammable during application process. Doubt ppl us it on glove.

By the way, the glove at RD is not re-usable right? Use can throw right....if it is usable and proven totally neutral to water, i dont mind getting one....lol

I got a nasty fingerfull of bristles from a hiding bristleworm when doing tank maintenance.

Perhaps gloves would be good and necessary in major re-scaping works as liverocks are sharp! But i think if you are careful in minor tank rescaping i guess it is not that necessary unless you already have existing wounds that are not healed on your hands.
