Ways to install a BECKETT

i'll be getting my 8" skimmer from ian (i~aquatic) in a week's time

pls share with me how to install the skimmer ... ie placement, hoses, pvc joints n things alike. technically or threotically

what problems did u face when installing the skimmer ...

and if u hv a 2nd chance to redo the installation, what would u do ??

Pls share ur thoughts n help a future beckett user

why dun you post a picture of your sump with the Beckett in it without any plumping or placing it externally. There are so many variants. You got to let us see/know where you want it.

ok..ill post pics of my tank, n where i intend to place the skimmer n pump ... thx for the tip bro really appreciates it

where's ian...must be bz fixing up my skimmer ...

IAN if u r reading this, pls give me all the necessary parts for me to inatall my skimmer along with some info.

roger is facing quite a bit of problem fixing up the 6' skimmer for a fellow reefer here ... 2 days n still not up yet, good learning process for me

bro, try to visit local lfs and see how they install their beckett. If u are placing out sump, then the outlet from the beckett muz be higher than ur sump in order to prevent back flow. i suppose u sldnt place the beckett too far away, so as to maximise the efficiency. and one other thing, when u first get the beckett try to observe it for a day and adjust the tuning, if not tsunami might happen.

LOL.... im from kl n believe me when i say that there's only one LFS over here in malaysia that uses a beckett, n guess what, its not even in KAY EL!!! the only lfs that uses a beckett is in ipoh - 3 becketts paiseh paiseh

(no disrespect for the LFS here) 'some' of them still uses a JEBO for their display tank ... yeah..not even a weipro ... lol

good choice. you will be satisfied with your beckett. remember to post pics! why not u drive here. . a lot of lfs using beckett here. . haha. .

My hometown is in KL too. (I lived in Singapore for many years though ).

Using Beckett in my tank at moment, and I will be back to KL for a short break in 3 weeks time (during Vesak holiday). Give me a ring if you need my help in setting up ur Beckett.
