I bought 2 aquaz T5 one month ago, together with the ebiru ballast. Connecting wire is easy with the clip and lock ballast.

1st impression is good, so much brighter than my NO actinic. Fluorescent effect is so so only thou.

After 1 week, I notice the brightness reduced, I thought it's my eye problem. So didn't care about it.

2 weeks later, I notice it's not so blue anymore, but there is a slight green tint. At this point of time, I notice it's even dimmer. And I can stare at the light without any blur vision, while when it first fire up, I can't stare at it for more than 5 second.

3 weeks and it's dim, with more greenish tint. I check with other friend that bought the same bulb, 1 months before me, he has the same problem, and even more green than mine.

Now I have to source for other T5 bulb, definately won't be looking at a bulb that bright for only few months, and keep on changing the wavelength (output color).

Care to share where you got your tube from? Got a pic of the "green" light?

hi

i think most properly is the eballast problem :D

I have all together 10 tubes of Aquaz, 2 3ft atinics for already 8 months on for 12 hours a day, still blue up till today. The other 8 4 ft tubes, 2 Atinic and 6 Pro Blue used since January this year for another tank, glad to say there is no change in colour, I use Elbiru ballasts.

Better check with your supplier and ask for refund or replacement if I were you. If goods are returned at least Aquaz manufacturer can look into your problem, maybe manufacturing default for your batch, I am sure Aquaz will be happy to replace your friend and your's faulty tubes.

I believe this is the second time you have highlighted your problem with Aquaz products, the first was some other Aquaz product which you suspected your SPS RTN because of it but only a maybe. Anyway, your lighting case is a clear cut problem with the tubes, better get them replaced.

I've just bought a 2ft 24W Aquaz Blue Actinic yesterday at $20. Seems like the stock level is low especially for 2ft. I was told by the store fellow that this Aquaz actinic blue is about 7,000+ K and the shelf-life is about 6mths. Wonder if it's true?

Is the Aquaz actinic blue really 7,000+ K instead of 20K?

I thought atinic is blue and there is no kelvin measurement. Problue has 10k and 20k, I think, but looks white with slight tint of blue.

I manage to get a snapshot of the 2 bulb in action, as you can see, it's tinted green. Anyhow aquaz has contacted me and propose for replacement, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

At first I was very upset with aquaz, now that I know it might be isolated case and due to they back up their product, I am confident again.

BTW, the shopkeeper also tell me that Aquaz is from US and there is another blue from Germany called Aqua Light and it's $26 for 2ft tube which will last longer - about 2 years. And it's about 20K.

Any idea what's the difference between this 2 products? Are they both from Aquaz? Understand the later is called Coral Blue instead of Actinic Blue.
