Leakage of electricity from chiller

Hi,

Any guys out there expereince such leakage before?

I am using a resun cl650 and notices during the last few days that the fishes seem to be behaving a little bit strange. Then I realised that there is electricity in the water. Felt it like a slight stinging sensation. Then used test pen (screwdriver with light type). the thing actually lit up.

So immediately switched off the chiller and tested again...no more electricity.

Checked around and talked to some friends.

They say could be kinetic rather than leakage. I am not technical but they say if it's a real leakage, the thing will have short circuited. In any case, just to be safe, I am not using it right now.

Just want to find out if this is normal or should I bring it for repairs. Btw, who does repairs for these brand of chillers?

Thanks for comments and advice.

i had that problem because i used a 3 pin to 2 pin adaptor to the mains...it means any leakage from the chiller will not be grounded....:P...

for your if you are connecting the power direct to a 3 pin point should have have problem....if it leaks, then maybe the grounding cable to the coil is loose, have a service man check it out in that case....

I suggest you connect it to another multi socket or direct into the wall main and test again. If problem still persist then mostly its the chiller wiring came loose. Dun put your hands in there, its not worth it.

Exactly happen to me the same thing!! Bro, u need to cut the two pin plug attached on the CL650, change it to a 3 pin one and connect to any 3 pin power point. Be it an isolated one or extension board is not a problem. The crucial point is it must be grounded!!!

Thanks for the help. Think I will try to earth the thing first b4 dringing it for repairs.

BTW if I cut off the 2 pin plug and connect it to a 3 pin plug, does it mean it is already earthed as there will be no earth wire? Can someone explain to me how to connect it? I am not very good in electrical stuff. Can also call me 92388686 Chia

Thanks
