cracking sounds in my eheim pump

my eheim pump had cracking sounds when it started up. i did take out everything & cleaned the impeller & other thingy but the sounds still remained. it was connected to my kalk reactor on timer & imagine the cracking sounds suddenly in the middle of the night... haahaa... sounds almost like rigid plastic sheets cracking... pls help!! thanks!

agree... open up check if u accidentally fit the impellor in wrongly

checked & cleaned liao... now that the cracking sounds had gone, the pump would not operate even when its on, koz i can feel the vibrations when i hold the pump(confirm the pump is running) but the water would not pump... help help!

did u prime the pump first? i.e. make sure there's water inside the pump before turning it on.. the pump cannot prime itself one...

another way is to dunk the whole thing into a pail of water and test to see if it still works... if not then send it for repair liaos i guess..

i guess the rotor inthe pump is up the lorry liao.. got to change a new pump.

I presume your ehiem pump is run externally? in that case u gotta get one that also can run externally...

For my DIY kalkreactor I run it using a maxijet 1200... it's enough to get the work done...

there are always other reefers selling their extra pump due upgrading or other reasons.. maybe u can try ur luck if u dun mind used pump.. they are mostly fairly cheap

plus now the pump siao siao liao... koz i'm running on timmer ma... it would not operate when the timmer switches to on! oni after i gave it a hard tap the pump would run... y? omg...
