quarantine tank

hi, Anyone can advise how can I setup a quarantine tank. Do I need to cycle the tank? need any life rock or filering media?

For QT Tank, the setup depends on the fish u r QT. A piece of LR is good as to let the fish hide when they are scare....as for the water, u can reused the old water from your main tank.

As for the filteration...a Canister or overhead is good enough, as long as the water is clean. Good to have circulation pump.

having a LR around do offers the fish security but others have use appropriate size PVC pipes also. You dun need elaborate filtering system. a simple good size sponge filter is fine. just seed the new sponge filter in your sump for good bacteria before usage. A small powerhead can be beneficial too.

Here's something i saw a LFS do for thier Q tank:

cut strips of black trash bag and tie them to a pebble with rubber band. Crumble the strips real good and let it into the water. It will look like sea kelp
