need it for a 3 x 2 x 2.5 tank with return rate of approx. 2200L/H.

I am looking at two units to cover back and front.

anyone can advise on the model to use or one bigger unit is good enough?

not looking at tunze for now unless the total cost is only slight difference.

striving for anemone and some LPS and SPS on top tier of tank.

since u r going for SPS i suggest u got for 2 M1100.. For me, i prefer to have strong circulation within my rocks so i hid one of them in to get the flow right there.. another one is placed infront to get an anti-clockwise water movement..

Is the one hidden also blowing at anti clockwise?

yup... but u may want to concentrate on getting the right flow to ur sps instead of getting more circulation within ur rocks.. it should be sufficient if ur return is strong enuff and the placement of the rocks not being too dense and compact.. :peace:

Thanks for the advice. :D

I am also concern there isn't enough flow on the sand bed, not to create sand storm but just enough to get debris suspended and avoid possibility of diatom on sand bed, though I know this isn't the lone factor.

if u planned to have sps on top , try to let return pipe or any of the seios blow directly at each other. Hopefully they are not one at each end. try to place them closer to create a big ripple.

as for mine, i had my 820 blowing at mid height while my return and 1100 crashed at each other

:)

that's a good combination. I am sure its the greatest sight to behold if you have soft corals swaying here and there :D

Me working towards that too.
