SRC Member ozy Posted April 19, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted April 19, 2005 Hi, I recently changed my MH 150 Bulb from the original 10000K that comes with the lamp to BLV 20000K bulb. Although the colour looks a lot better, it seems to me that the new bulb is not as bright as the old one. I was wondering if it is a perception issue, or there is something wrong with my bulb/ballast/lamp. One the same note, I was told that there is a proper way to install the DE 150W bulb. There is this little "nipple" thingy needs to be pointed downwards. Is it true? Thanks in advance.
SRC Member riot Posted April 19, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted April 19, 2005 There should not much difference if the nipple is up or down. The 20kk is far dimmer than the 10kk. I used to run 20kks, so when I switched over to 10kks, the bulb lit my entire living room. No need to switch on the hall lights anymore- super cool. I am not sure as to the stats, but the PAR is of far greater value in the 10kk. There's an old thread linking to Sanjay's comparison of 250w bulbs. Might be useful.
