All my fishes died!!!

Hello all,

The sad news is all my fishes has died one by one.

Dont really know why as my water parameters are ok. NO2 and NO3 are within safe levels.

Am having a mostly FOWLR in my 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 tank. Using canister filter.

The best part is that my shrimp just lay eggs and another shrimp is preggie!!!

Anyone has any idea why this happen?

My tank is one year old.

NO2 = 0.1mg/l

NO3 = 0 mg/l

No new introduction of LS into the tank for about 1.5 month already.

first to go is the butterfly fishes, then red anthias, then coral beauty, then bi-colour, then tomato clown, blue damsel. So sad!!!!!

damsel also gone? scary.. u sure test kit ok? damsel are hardy.. *pat pat* so u mean u had not change any equipment or done anything to ur tank since?

Only left with one lobster and 2 shrimps!!!

One shrimp just lay eggs also!! Another shrimp appears to be preggie!!!

How come fishes die and shrimps can thrive!!!!

hmm.. got try testing ammonia? but weird also.. coz u dint change/add anything all along.. maybe can wait for senior here who can advice you beta..

sympathies bro...it's definitely strange that your invertebrates are surviving and your fishes are dying...mabbe somehow something foreign was introduced to your tank and only affects fishes? Although no addition of new livestock but maybe like some strange fly drop inside and release some unknown stuff. Anyways best of luck

time to do at least 20% water changes.

Something is wrong in the water or tank.

Damsels almost never dies ...........

I have dumped one damsel and one clown into a pail of

stagnant sea water without air pump or food for 1 week and

they are still alive ......

am using a chiller for some of my remainding corals as I only recently moved to FOWLR tank. Water cooled to 25 degrees.

it will make it easier for reefers here to advise you properly if you can state your water parameters.

not just ur NO2 and NO3, wat abt ur SG,PH etc?

and how come you can detect NO2 but ur NO3 is 0?

wat test kits are you using?

did yuor fishes died without any wounds or what they looked like (eg colour faded, itch, etc) or not eating....etc. Any suspect of murderer in your tank ?? Even damsel also die must be something very potent leh.

did u stir ur sandbed? or stress ur fishes when u r cleaning the tank?

maybe because of your oil layer not enough oxygen being absorbed thru the water surface?
