Layer of Oil on the surface water

probably due to the food that you feed...sometimes after i feed, can see the surface have this greyish layer. This can cause reduced oxygen absorption at the surface and reduced light intensity. If you're using canister maybe you should invest in a surface skimmer.most people using overflow usually won't have the problem since overflow naturally skims the surface.

Anyone knows where I can purchase the Read Sea Surface Skimmer attachment for my Red Sea Skimmer?

Please advise.

Those oil film will impede oxygen exchange for your tank. I really advise you have some powerhead agitating near the surface area until you resolve this issue. I had similar case in one of my nano tank.

I saw the red sea surface strainer at Aqua Marin, but if you are using fan with high evaporation then the strainer wont work effectively because of the constantly falling water level. You can get the Atman/Ehiem surface suction extractor instead. here's the picture.

Best you connect it to your skimmer but you may need to get a short length of those clear hard tubing at your LFS.

Actually if you want a cheap solution, can get those cheap surface skimmer for about $10. Quite simple to use, the skimmer cup will self adjust to water-level. Either attach directly to canister input or can tee.

think bro dreamzcape is referring to this one

get hydro rotating head with rounded sponge, attach it to a PH. It will clean the surface oil within 10 minutes. Once I fed salmon to my RBTA and there is a layer of oil on top of the water, this method works.
