SRC Member SpiderOne Posted September 6, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 6, 2003 then how's light going to penetrate thru? thats what i was thinking.. refugiums are not inside the tank coz people prefer to have 24 hr lighting in refugium to prevent the algae from going sexual. your house basically blocks out a lot of light from reaching the algae. and unless ur tank lights are on 24 hrs.. dont do it. SRC Member ervine Posted September 6, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 6, 2003 Maybe if it's completely enclosed up in some acrylic cube with holes for circulation... and placed in a place where it recieves lot of light... then I guess it's fine but still it'll look VERY prominent unless ur tank is super huge... But the bigger the tank, the bigger the refugium... Hm.. How about those HOB (hang on back) type??
SRC Member DaY Posted September 6, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 6, 2003 you can put marcoalgae which will not going sexual like sea lettuce or other ty. ...but generally i dun think it a good idea also.
