and the protein skimmer that i am using are thsoe air pump operated.. are they effective for small tank like mine?

Depends also on the amount of bubbles generated...the more the merrier...check the pump

Btw, rocks at farms are usually sold cheaper if you are able to get...I get mine from T9* at Seletar West Farmway One. Less than ten bucks per kg and got coralline too. Also get some tourbo snails...they help...

Sorry been out of touch with this forum cos of studies... IMO, I never approve of such air-driven skimmers cos its not very effective.... But yr tank seems small.

Try to control yr feeding, use a powerhead to blow at the rocks and try to suck out all the algae. Do water changes and then add rowaphos to your filter... That ought to help.

Hihi Saw plenty of gobies sleeper & yellow watchman type i think at rebor. the other day. But for the size of yr tank maybe those are too big. Maybe u can try and ge a bicolor blenny instead. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di...id=21&pCatId=66

I had hair epidemic some time ago as well. Just cudnt control it. Finally gave up and took out the live rocks on at a time and use water hose to pressure spray and scrub all out. Wont really recommend this unless really epidemic. In my case, i subsequently got rid of the bioballs in the sump and replace with more live rocks and (touch wood) hvnt had the hair for a couple of yrs already.
