hello

hope this info helps u

i used 120kg of grade 1 sand to achieve 9cm of sandbed

as to return, i'm using 2x eheim 1262...good flow IMO from the way food circulates without resting on sandbed so sandbed remains clean...corals also get current everywhere (but this depends very much on your rockscape too so don't take my word for it blindly)

hope its been helpful

nope...not even if both fails

what you needa do to prevent flooding is to put the output as high up as possible(without causing much salt spray) so that when the pump fails, there's little water for the pipe to siphon back

to confirm no flooding...just do a blackout test...off everything

hope this helps

Return pump speed depends on your volume of water in litres. Your tank is 600litres. So, the speed of your return pump is 5x600=3000 litres. You may use a Eheim 1262 a 3400 litres/hr pump. Don't comprimise on other brands or you will have to pick up the peices later.

Cheers

and i believe the pump specs and requirements are vey impt factors to take note of!! esp, cheap pump where will leak elec....high wattage used, hot and cannot reach the max power!
