hi,

have anyone try diy your own wooden stand?

Think of doing one myself but need advice how should i go about doing it.

Where to get good and durable wood?

Please advice....

yah I did my own stand, so did some other bros.. go do a search in the DIY forum...

You'll probabaly save a hunderd to a few hundred bucks but after many nights of backbreaking work...

If you have no access to powertools nor any carpentery knowledge i suggest u don't try...

but can't find any posts on DIY wooden stand.

So hope that someone can give some instructions on how about doing it.

I used those self-adhesive laminates for all the panels and hood.

Wood can be purchased from 1 of 2 shops at Eunos Industrial Park. They'll cut for you.

I use kapur wood. My tank is 3 feet.

Edwin, building a cabinet for your new 2ft?

Still planning.. not confirm yet.

still comparing between cabinet and stainless steel stand.

Be careful with SS... u still need to coat it several times with a marine grade epoxy paint...

i thought SS should be rust free?

KayKay, I'm trying to make a wooden cabinet for my 3ft tank, but will be a simple one cos i intend to only wrap it round my steel stand (three sided with the back empty) just want to find out fm you where you got your materials? any place to recommend? Thanks. :nc:

i thought SS should be rust free?

i still to coat it marine grade epoxy paint...?

it's rust resistant.. not rust free... especially when there's salt water around... and SS is expensive and not easy to find someone that'll do it for you
