Is this piece of leather coral dyed?

My skimmer's foaming went bonkers after I added this piece of coral, I also noticed a yellow tint in my water after adding this coral. After a few days, the whole piece melted and yellow liquid was leaking from the coral when I took it out.

This is my first coral purchase after I setup my tank, will be smarter from now onwards.

if i remember correctly a lfs did tell me once that if a coral is yellow, it's i quote:"definitely dyed, your skimmate will be yellow and coral wouldn't last long"....i just can't remember which lfs told me this though...sorry about it
