Fire goby MIA

i just got 4 fire goby two days ago. My tank size is 3x2x2.5ft and since i put them into the tank, i havent seen them at all. Are fire goby known to be shy, performs disappearing act or? perhaps i sld wait a few more days for them to settle down?

fire gobies are shy fishes.

my 2 fire gobies, and flame goby both hide for 2 weeks before they started venturing.

its the same with another friend of mine.

give them somemore time...i don't think you should worry

yea they are shy and they don't feed from the surface. from my experience will get scared away by aggressive feeders. They are also very prone to being bullied...my goby's tail is all tattered and torn.They like to find caves and holes to 'park' themselves using their dorsal fin.

firegoby might not be able to live happily together,they might fight and the strongest will survive..sometimes 1 or 2 left.

My fire came out after 1wk.. somehow u gota depends wat other fishes u got in there.. due to my dotty, it hid for 1wk and came out of hunger.. hang in there.. if theres no aggressive fish ard, u dun have much problem..

Thanks all for sharing the information with me. Currently i only have 4 clowns in the tank, wun pose a threat to the gobies at all. In addition, i wun be adding any more new fishes (scared my tank cant take the load). Hopefully the gobies will come out soon.

fire gobies have a dart hole. that is when they feel disturbed they will retreat back into their holes. Just dim the lights when introducing them and acclimatise them properly, they should be able to feed. my fire goby is xtremely bold. It came out and swam at the top after half an hour after intoduction.
