Foung craw of crab @ SEIO pump

I found one crab craw stuck in my SEIO pump this evening. Lokks like it belonged to the crab in my tank

Just wondering if a crab that has lost a craw still survive long? If not that is very good.. Got rid of a pest!

yes it can survive even with a lost pincer.

Cos my shrimps and crab always loose legs or hands(craw)

Then after they next molt, then the "limbs" grew back again.

Hate those crabs, the bottle method sometimes dont work, they smart too.

Actully if the crabs are not causing any harm, they should be quite useful as scavengers right?

I think so lah but my people here in the forum still have bad experience with them.

1) toppling corals

2) bitting off legs of starfish

3) killing some fish

etc etc.............

Its better to get rid of the crab. I caught 6 crabs in my tank. The bottle method is not really working if the crab is smart. I only can catch 2 crab with the method. Then after wait for 3 days... frustrated and find the LR where the crab hiding, pull it out and wash in tap water. Finally get all 6. All throw into sea already.

I dose crab-x into my tank, all crab is gone within 2 hours, harmless to coral and fish. Acro crab is dead too, too bad.
