hi bro and sis, i'm in this hobby since last year oct and have started my tank well, recently 1 of my friend advise me to chg the brand of salt that i'm using cos due to the contents inside was somehow "not good" for marine life due to his in-depth research, so i went on to chg the salt to other brands.

i did the chging of salt slowly by adding new salt and old salt together, percentage by percentage then totally to new salt, but to my amazment, after the chg of salt cycle completed, all my LS and 1/2 of my corals went heaven.... :cry2:

and now i cant bring my no3 down, i've been chging water for 3 weeks and the no3 have no signs of dropping... 20% chg and 40% chg then to last week of 60%...weeks after weeks of chging of water....

my tank have no LS since 1 mth ago... now only left 1 bubble, 1 frogspawn and a anemone. it still remains at 50ppm :pinch:

I'm now switching my salt back the the old salt where it comes with the LITTLE BOTTLE. I'm going to sit and wait to see if this time round the no3 drop of not... i've done 20% chg of water.

Can some experts give me some hints, i'll appreciate it very much, Thanks.

Didn't know that chging of salt can do such disaster to my tank.

try to use distilled water to make ur saltwater.

tap water contribute to nitrate.

im using "the little bottle"

fine for me though.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Try biohome. It seems to work. I've removed my skimmer. And my tank if I'm not wrong has been rather overfed by my family members. About 1-2 months since the skimmer was removed. So far nitrates at 5ppm (it was at 0ppm when the skimmer was running).

Always something more important than fish.
