Well a kiasu person would use reverse osmosis or otherwise filtered water...

I just use tap water + anti chlorine.... but since I put it in my big auto-top up tub, by the time it gets to the tank it's already aged...

Brand of anti-chlorine is Nutrafin or something....

actually it's up to you, it depend whether you want to spend the efforts to provide the best shot for your fish/coral. Those fish fanatics will go for kalkwasser or even

vinegar + kalkwasser . I saw the shop in NT<< chalet topping with tap water .

Thay are so called expert and anyway nothing happens to their corals.

ageing removes some chlorine. SPS fanatics use kalkwasser. fish dun need :P . Vinegar just used to dissolve the kalkwasser completely... try chloramine. Nothing will happen in the short run i believe. basically theres a simple equation

ANTICHLORINE = MONEY . Why should we spend money when its totally not necessary? .

Dun use LFS's as your guide ;) . except for a few good lfs's

Thanks for your views. So am I right to say that its ok to top using anti-chlorine with water direct from the tap (without ageing)?

Fuel & gatecrasher,

U mean to say that u use tap water without removing the chlorine or ageing? Direct from the tap to the tank? Thats something new.

If its for topping up purposes, I presume that very little water is added, so it should not pose very much a problem. Anyway, I use overnight water w/o any chemical.
