My regal is almost reach 2 years in my tank and eat on everything i throw to the tank like pellets, flakes, live/frozen adult artemia or mysis shrimp, blood worm and nori. He share with some other big angel.

Fews tips on buying this fish : no need to worry either this fish is eat or not in the LFS because if u can get a good and healthy fish, feeding this fish is not hard anymore, just pay attention : never buying grey belly species (always choose yellew belly), find the one with good swimming behavior, normal breathing, and the most important (my guide, since i sometimes bought regal angel for my friend) good regal will react to strange face/hand if u put ur face/hand infront the tank and will swim coming to u and move away from u, so in briefly this fish is know that you are looking at him, in this step i usually do a check for about 10-20 minutes to make sure that this fish is top notch.

You most likely wouldn't be scolded as I always do this. But the setback is that while looking @ it, this catches the attention of other curiuos reefer whom will join in the fun. Then when you go and get a pail to net the fella, he will net it first and walk away with it.

i've read that you can get it from ML(sponsor) and SL brings them in too. I've not kept mine for 2 years, more like two months only... they are wonderful fish to have in an SPS reef tank... they like to eat zoos though... I enjoy keeping her.

Tell me abt it, bro. They can strip your buttons off the LR faster than the zoos can grow. Lost couple of nice collection thanks to it. But as it's my wife favourite fish so I just have to stop buying zoos.

Never encounter ich on my Regal angel before but most angel are nature shy fish. So it's good that you put the regal in before you stock up or you don't have aggressive fish that will disturb it. Tangs can live peaceful with angel from my pass experience, except crown and damsel.

Yellow belly regal are collected from 2 different location, namely Philippines and Red Sea. So far, those Philippines speciemen ones are pretty large (=/>4") while those from Red Sea can be quite small (=/>2.5")

Price is different too. Red Sea around $65 and Philippines $25 - $38.

A little bit correction, yellow belly is spread in 2 location : first is indo-pacific sea and second is red sea (like u said), but indo-pacific yellow belly is not only comes from phillipine, here in indonesia there are some location for the yellow belly specimen, so in indonesia there are 2 type of regal, 1'st is grey belly and 2'nd is yellow belly, my yellow belly are capture in indonesia and Padand island is the location which yelow belly regal are abundant. The red sea specimen is more yellow, it tend to orange than yellow.
