I think its possible... but depends on how large your tank is. IMO, at least a 4 footer.

according to books they are synchronous protogynous hermaphrodites. They start out sexually undifferentiated, develop into females and under growth and social stimuli develop into males with one or more females in the territorial harem.

Generally males are larger and more colourful

Seriously, i think it don't works putting all into the same time, because i have one existing flame which is aggressive, killed 1 of the angel, it has been in the tank for 5mths, just bought 2 more which is a pair and throw it in, 1 of them is shy and kanna whack by the old flame, immediately 1 of the new aggressive flame (should be a male bigger size) started to attack the old flame and both gone into a fight chasing each other across the tank. The old flame lost the battle.

My observation is the new flame(male) will try to protect the other new flame from being attack by the old flame.

After a few days, 3 of them don't really fight at all, sometimes there is abit of chasing each other.

I strongly believe that if host 10 flame angel in the same tank the most shy, smallest and weakest wil surely die under the attack of others flame

From Henry, he say tat those with 6 stripes are male, those with 4 are female.

I just got a pair from him. Wonder if they will breed soon, hahah
