Algae Growing On Growth Tip

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone of u experienced algae growing on the growth tips of acros??? noticed some algae growing on the growth tips of my humilis which i gotten from the 2nd last PR shipment...anyway to remove them or must i frag them ??? quite heart wrenching to see growth on acros but the next thing u know, algae grows on them...

If the acro is thriving then the algae should pose a problem as the coral will quickly encrust over the dead bits but A. humilis isn't a particularly fast growing coral.

Hi tanzy,

that's what joe p told me too..he said leave it alone if it is growing and the tissue will grow over it...yup, humilis is a slow grower but so far it's got some growth already which i was rather surprised myself. ..that's why rather confused on the next course of action. will probably monitor it for a while more and see how.

was thinking of doing that also...but quite a few tips kena algae..gonna be a hassle...will be my last choice resort!! By the way, u have any experience in deep water acro??? got one from PR just now... really unique man...totally white..looks like it's bleached..haha..
