hey guys, i just got the tank on e 8/3/05. Started running the tank w/o live rocks on e 12/3/05. The live rocks wld be in tmr. . will update you guys with more pics.

Specs:

3x2x2.5ft tank with sump and cabinet

Eheim 1260 as return pump

Macro AS250 protein skimmer

refugim sand bed (10cm.. approx 23kg)

total sand used (75kg)

live rocks to be added (60-70kg)

bro, unable to give you the exact price of the tank and equipments. Here's a rough guide of the price u sld be looking at. .

1) tank/sump/cabinet - $400

2) Eheim 1260 2nd hand ($80-$100) however, i wld advise u to get eheim 1262 instead.

3) skimmer, try to go for the best. i recommend beckett. ($500)

4) sand, 10kg for $6, u need approx 80-100kg.

5) Live rocks, about 80-90kg now. Get from pple who decommission, will save u lots plus the rocks are cured. However, might not get the shape u wan. ($3-$6/kg)

In short, set aside $4000 for a 3ft tank.

Just to add, i am please to say that all my fishes/tangs are completely itch free after combating it for almost a month. However, along the way i lost one powder blue tang and one naso tang. Have been feeding the fishes daily with brine/mysis shimps soaked in garlic. Previously using kent marine garlic, now switch to seachem garlic cuz ran out of stock. i believe it contributed to the recovery of the remaining survivors.
