bro.. becareful of ur sea cucumber.. my sea cucumber went into my seio and come out into small piece.. and it give out toxic.. ya.. when ur fish eat, they will die.. and this happen to all my fish. haix.. juz watch out for it.. btw nice tank u have there..

bro. . yours not the first i heard. another friend of mine has his sea cucumber suck into the pump and it was a disaster. . whrek chaos in the tank for a week b4 the skimmer managed to skim out some of the remainings.

p.s. thinking of how to scape my tank better. . anyone help me. and the %&** skimmer.

bro, thanks to another reefer. . got my rocks from him. . good quality. . figi and tonga branches. . hopefully it will help speed up the cycling process. . will add in new LS in 3 weeks++. . b4 tt i will check the perimeters of the tank first. have yet to done any. .

try adjusting ur skimmer's pump nearer to the water surface. Macro needlewheel skimmer i think, all works this way. U must see thick white bubbles in ur skimmer, and not 'fine' watery ones.

now that you mention. . e bubbles are all pretty fine. . will try tuning it later. . that's the problem with macro skimmers according to many pple. thanks for ur advice bro.

u need to tune it. try adjusting water level,

length of the air intake tube.

3x2x2.5ft tank with sump and cabinet

Eheim 1260 as return pump

Macro AS250 protein skimmer

refugim sand bed (10cm.. approx 23kg)

total sand used (75kg)

live rocks to be added (60-70kg)

Eheim 1250 for chiller

NSEW chiller by pacific marine, 1/3 hp.

Yup.. it takes time for your skimmer to actually "breaks in" to your system before it starts foaming. Some skimmer takes as long as 1 week to break in.

that's good news. . i was actually wondering if i sld block the outlet of the flow so tt the water will rise. . so prob wait till next fri and see if there's any improvements. thanks bro!

u're having problem of sump overflowing when the power gets cut? i notice that the water level in the sump is quite high

do you have durso standpipe in your overflow box?

if most of the water comes from the backflow of the return pump, you can raise the outlet or install a checkvalve.

i just added 4 clown fish in ytd to test water, couldnt resist the temptation. Tested the water perimeters as well, so far so good. i will prob let the water run for another two weeks b4 adding more stuff.
