Hi, Need advise from expert here, I got one 5'x2'x2' FW tank (sump filter system)and thinking of converting it to marine (SH & some invertebrates only). Will that be too difficult to maint & feeding the SH ? I been keeping a small reef tank (2'x1'x1.5') for about 1.5 years.

first how thick is your glass? 5 by 2 by 2 is a big tank, make sure it is enforced at the edge to prevent leakage.

second, has you used any copper medication in fresh water? If so, better not unless you can clean it very, very, very clean so that no trace of copper.

If the above is not a problem why not, provided you know how to care SH.

:) Greeting :)

Tank: 4' by 2' by 2' (CR antique)

Sump: 3' include 1' refuigm

Thanks for all advices. The tank is 12mm, is actually a marine design tank. If i start, will change all water & filter material. I still reading up on husbandry of SH, will not rush into it, (learnt my lesson on starting my reef tank) ;)

What i worry is same as comment from bro decentkid & roadster, feeding issue. Thinking of partition it (2' for SH & 3' for reefing) but it may not look nice.

:yeah: i can do wonders with a tank like that! :yeah: partition 1ft or 2ft to keep the sh first, get them train to frozens using a feeding bowl..... when they are fully train to frozens or at least regconise to take food from e Feeding station, then can remove the partition liao.

make sure no complicated LRs setup, this allows u to obsevere ur sh daily easily.

Happy Seahorse keeping! ;)

I gotta feeling..Woo...hoo....That tonight's gonna be a good night.....That tonight's gonna be a good, good night!

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
