Modifying My Skimmer

I observed that my weipro skimmer 2012 does not seem to produce a lot of air bubbles when I use hi rating (1500 or 2000 l/hr) power heads. Instead a 800 l/hr seem to operate better. I am thinking of inserting a wooden air stone into the skimmer and inject more air bubbles. Has anyone tried this (crazy ) idea? Really appreciates any inputs and comments.

You might want to do the same thing if you see the amount of bubbles in the skimmer. Or are there any other options to increase the air rate?

I believe its just a normal power head. bot at $13 for 1500 l/hr. Budget constraint.

What brand of pump did the lfs recommend? Where?

They will anyhow recommand you one.why dont you use the tried and true powerheads.The weipro owners has had great results with them.Save you the hassle also.
