How to remove the algae from glass wall?

Hi, SRC members,

My 2-ft tank has brown and some green algae growing on the sandbed and the side glass.

I clean the glass with a yellow sponge approx. once a week.

However, some of the algae are hard to come off and I don't wish to scratch the glass.

Can someone suggest how you "scrape" off the stubborn algae growing on the side of the glass tank without scratching the glass?

Can an algae scraper do a good job?

I have a snail but it's not clearing the algae fast enough (those on the glass wall). I will get more snails soon but still need advice on removing algae on glass wall.

Thanks.

Felix

be cautious when you do the glass, the diatom will just simply land on the sand bed and feed new diatom. i had the algae problem too, i try a rough dishwashing pad and scrap upwards in one motion so the diatom stay on the pad. then rinse and repeat.

the credit card is a good option if your algae problem is minor
