hairy crab attack

always checked all my corals before putting them in but recently caught a few small little brown hairy crabs on my monti digi and caps... they sure do eat the tissue fast leaving behind white patches.. .. size range from 2mm to 5mm..

anyone experience b4? still have 1 stuck under my monti cap happily eating away.. and cant catch..

cant take the monti out also.. any suggestions?

i use a small glass or a chicken essence bottle and put a little bit of food inside. place the bottle leaning against the rocks so that the crabs can climb in from the top. once the crab is in, it can't get out again because it is too slippery. i've caught a lot of hairy crabs that way. you might have to put a rubber band or two across the entrance to make it narrower so that cleaner shrimps/small fish don't try to go in and steal the food.

ok.. but the crabs are on the monti which is practically floating in mid air.. how to place bottle liddat?

what i do:

inspect all sps for unwanted hitchhikers. once i see anything which is hairy & brown, poker the bugger with a pc of toothpick.........

bro just use a screwdriver and screw those crabs, crush and destroy. or if not use tweezers to try to grab them out...

and btw, the six line wrasse cant take on these crabs la! u asking him to die issit...normally they just take snails and some nudis they say...

no ma. coz the crab is really very tiny 1 so was hoping the six line would peck him to death ..

couldnt get it out as it was hiding inside the twist and turns of the monti cap... however today heng heng it ran out and i crushed that bugger..

while it's wondering around at nite, I place scissors near it slowly, then katcha! BTW I have bought crab-x, it's a chemical where you dose it to your tank, all crab, shrimp and pod will die, coral and snail safe.
